Obituaries

The Bozeman Daily Chronicle provides several options for obituary listings both in print and online.

Note: All obituaries are due by 12 p.m. for the next edition of the Chronicle, notices for Weekend editions are due by 12 p.m. on Fridays.

Full Obituaries

Full obituaries include text about the deceased either sent in by families or funeral homes. These can vary in length considerably, depending on what is submitted. The cost of a full obituary depends upon its length and whether photos are included.

Cost

The cost for full obituaries that run one day between Tuesday and Friday is $15 per column inch.

The cost for full obituaries that run one day in the Weekend Edition (Saturday) is $20 per column inch.

Photos

All obituary photos cost $25. Printed photos run the full width of the column (1.5 inches); larger photo sizes are available upon request. Obituary photos are printed in color.

Uploading Photos

The optimal photo size for uploads is 450 pixels wide or 450 pixels high. Resolution should be at least 150 dpi.

Online listing

All obituaries are uploaded to the Bozeman Daily Chronicle website and to Legacy.com.

Submitting an obituary

To submit an obituary, free death notice or celebration of life notice:

Funeral homes should visit Memoriams.com.

Private parties or family members can submit obituaries by visiting https://placement.memoriams.com/BozemanDailyChronicle. Email questions can be sent to peoplenews@dailychronicle.com.

The Bozeman Daily Chronicle covers southwest Montana, serving the communities of Bozeman, Belgrade, Three Forks, Ennis, Manhattan, Gallatin Gateway, Big Sky, West Yellowstone, Gardiner, Wilsall and Livingston.


Deadline

Obituaries are due by 12 p.m. each day for publication in the next edition (weekdays Tuesday - Friday), notices for Weekend editions are due by 12 p.m. on Fridays.


Associated Press style

All obituaries will be edited to conform to Associated Press style. This includes, but is not limited to, dates, titles, states, times, etc. The Chronicle reserves the right to reject or change copy at the publisher's discretion.
